A quality engineer wants to compare chromatogram profiles for samples of gasoline at various octanes. An irregular profile indicates possible quality problems. The engineer tests samples of nine octane ratings and records the values for 36 different components.
You can use this data to demonstrate Line Plot, Without Symbols, and other analyses that compare multiple columns of summarized data.
Worksheet column | Description |
---|---|
900 to 1600 | The chromatogram readings for each component in the sample, for a total of 36 columns. |
octane | The octane rating of the sample. This is the label column. |
Each row gives the chromatogram output for one octane level. For instance, values in the first row of columns 1 to 36 give the chromatogram output for components 900-1600 for the sample of gasoline with an octane of 84.9.
