Start a non-workflow project

You can start a non-workflow project to skip the review and approval process required by workflow. Once you start a non-workflow project, you cannot include it in the workflow process. Only administrators and data architects can include non-workflow projects in the dashboard.

As a user, you might start a non-workflow project to use Companion's tools outside of the context of an official project, for example, creating a one-off process map or brainstorming ideas during a meeting.

As a data architect, you might start a non-workflow project when you are prototyping a new methodology or testing new forms. You can start a non-workflow project from the desktop app or the web app.

From the desktop app

  1. In the desktop app, choose File > New > Non-Workflow Project.
  2. Click the project template to use for the non-workflow project. Companion opens the template so you can start your project.
