Add data to a shape

On a value stream map, add data to shapes to calculate a timeline. Add map data to calculate takt time.

Add data to process and inventory shapes

When you add data to process shapes and inventory shapes, Companion calculates a timeline. For information about how the timeline is calculated, go to Value stream map and timeline calculations.
Note

To ensure the timeline calculations are accurate, always add process data to process shapes and inventory data to inventory shapes.

  • To enter process data, right-click a process shape, choose Shape Data > Add Shape Data, and then enter values for the data on the Process tab.
  • To enter inventory data, right-click an inventory shape, choose Shape Data > Add Shape Data, and then enter values for the data on the Inventory tab. Inventory shapes include Inventory, Buffer Stock, Supermarket, and FIFO Sequence Flow.

Some data that you enter in the task pane appears beside the shape on the timeline and some data does not. To display data that does not appear, go to Display data on a value stream map.

Note

If the data you want to add is not in the task pane, you can add it. Go to Manage data fields from the task pane.

Add map data

When you add map data, Companion calculates takt time. For information about how takt time is calculated, go to Value stream map and timeline calculations.

  2. In the Map Data task pane, in Cust. Demand, enter a value per some unit of time.
