With a QFD Project, you can use the Design Scorecard: Part, Design Scorecard: Performance, and Scorecard Summary forms. Scorecards summarize engineering metrics, provide visibility into the project, and promote communication within the organization. For more information, go to Add and complete a form.

Design Scorecard: Part

Use the Design Scorecard: Part form to assess how well a part is manufactured. This form also helps you evaluate design parameters from the House of Quality Matrix 2 so that you can predict the probability of defect levels, calculate capability, and set goals.

The Design Scorecard: Part answers the following questions.
  • What are the defects per unit (DPU) for each design parameter?
  • Which DPU method is used?

How-to

This form uses the design parameters from the House of Quality matrices. As a cross-functional team, complete the following steps.
  1. In the All Parts table, complete the remaining columns.
  2. Under DPU Data, select the appropriate DPU Method to move the variables to the appropriate table.
  3. To calculate the DPU, complete the remaining columns in each table.
  4. Review the Part Scorecard Summary.
  5. Open the Scorecard Summary form and review the values in the Part row.

Design Scorecard: Performance

Use the Design Scorecard: Performance form to assess how well the product is performing. This form also helps you evaluate performance criteria from the House of Quality Matrix 1 so that you can predict the probability of defect levels, calculate capability, and set goals.

The Design Scorecard: Performance answers the following questions.
  • What are the defects per unit (DPU) for each performance criterion?
  • How well can you measure a performance criterion?
  • Which DPU method is used?

How-to

This form uses the performance criteria from the House of Quality matrices. As a cross-functional team, complete the following steps.
  1. In the All Product Characteristics Table, complete the remaining columns.
  2. Under DPU Data, select the appropriate DPU Method to move the variables to the appropriate table.
  3. To calculate the DPU, complete the remaining columns in each table.
  4. Review the Performance Scorecard Summary.
  5. Open the Scorecard Summary form and review the values in the Performance row.
