Companion lets you determine the specific project data, or key metrics, to track on the dashboard. This project data is referred to as "global" data because it is available to all users through standard forms. The dashboard aggregates the global data values from all projects that are included in the repository and displays the results in dashboard reports to provide insight in to your improvement initiative. When all projects are set up to collect the same global data in the same way, you can be sure that dashboard reports are accurate and up-to-date.
By default, any new project you create is excluded from dashboard reports. When a project is excluded, its data is not included in dashboard reports, and only the project owner, data architects, administrators, and any named users can access it. You might exclude a project that hasn't been approved yet, or is one that does not contribute to the improvement initiative, such as a standalone process map.
