STEP 6 Customize: Customizing your summary (optional)

Customize how the summary appears in the Dashboard report.

Summary settings

On the Summary Settings tab, you can affect the following parts of a summary.

A: Title
The name of the variable to summarize. To edit the title, click it and type.
B: Subtitle
The selected time component for the summary. You can show or hide the subtitle, but you cannot edit it.
C: Scale
The scaling factor that is used in table numbers and graph data labels. By default, numbers in a summary are scaled automatically; however, you can choose your own scale from the Scale menu.
D: Table
A tabular view of the aggregated project data for the selected variables.
E: Graph
A visual representation of the aggregated project data for the selected variables.
F: Layout

How the main elements of the summary are displayed. You can include a table, a graph or both; arrange the position of the table; and set the width of the summary to 1-, 2-, or 3-columns.

Table settings

On the Table Settings tab, you can affect the following parts of a summary.

A: Headings
The name of the variables represented in the rows and columns of the table. You can show or hide headings. To edit a heading, click it and type.
B: Rows and Columns
The horizontal and vertical lines of data values in the table. When you transpose the rows and columns, the data values are switched. Totals can be a sum, a count, or an overall average. You can show or hide row and column totals.
C: Grand Total
The total of all rows and columns. You can show or hide the grand total.

Graph settings

On the Graph Settings tab, you can affect the following parts of a summary.

A: Legend
The color key to the data plotted on the graph. You can swap which variable is represented on the x-axis of the graph.
B: Data Labels
The numeric value of the visual component of the graph. You can show or hide data labels, but you cannot edit them.
C: Graph
The visual representation of the aggregated project data for the selected variables. You can choose different graph types and change the color palette. For a list of graph types, go to Graph types.
D: Headings
The name of the variables represented in the graph. You can show or hide headings. To edit a heading, click it and type.
