Create a simple scatterplot

You can create a simple scatterplot to examine the relationship between two variables.

For example, this scatterplot shows the height vs weight of a group of college students.

To create a simple scatterplot, you must use a worksheet with one pair of columns that contain X-Y data.

Example worksheet

C1 C2
Height Weight
66.0 140
72.0 145
73.5 160
... ...
  1. Choose Graph > Scatterplot.
  2. Choose Simple, then click OK.
  3. Under Y variables, enter a column of y-values. In the example, Weight is the Y variable.
  4. Under X variables, enter a column of x-values. In the example, Height is the X variable.
  5. Click OK.
