Create a single empirical CDF plot

You can create an empirical CDF plot to evaluate the fit of a distribution to your data and estimate percentiles.

For example, this empirical CDF plot shows the distribution of torque values needed to remove caps on shampoo bottles.

To create a single empirical CDF plot, you must use a worksheet that contains a column of measurement data.

Example worksheet

C1
Torque

...
  1. Choose Graph > Empirical CDF.
  2. Choose Single, then click OK.
  3. Under Graph variables, enter a column of numeric data. In the example, Torque is the graph variable.
  4. Click OK.
