Minitab offers several options for creating graphs that are similar to or exactly like others you've created. These options are available only for control charts and graphs created using the Graph menu.

Duplicate a graph

  • To create an exact copy of a graph, including any added annotation items or edits, with the graph active, choose Editor > Duplicate Graph.

Create the same graph, but with different variables

You can replace any of the variables used to create a graph without changing any of its other characteristics, including any editing you did to the graph.

  1. With the graph active, choose Editor > Make Similar Graph.
  2. Under New Variable, enter the columns that will replace the originals in the new graph.
  3. Click OK.

Copy the command language for a graph

You can copy the command language used to create a graph, including any editing that you did to the graph. You can then paste the command language into the Command Line Editor or use it in macros.

  • With the graph active, choose Editor > Copy Command Language.
This command copies the command language used to create the graph, including any added annotation or edits, to the clipboard.
  • To paste the command language in the Command Line Editor, choose Edit > Command Line Editor or press Ctrl+L. Then, right-click the window and choose Paste.
