Enter your data for Two-way ANOVA (Data tab)

On the Data tab of the Two-way ANOVA dialog box, specify the data for your analysis and determine whether you want to include the interaction term.

Enter your data

Complete the following steps to specify the columns of data that you want to analyze.

  1. In Response, enter the column that contains the continuous data.
  2. In Factor 1, enter a column that contains a group classification.
  3. In Factor 2, enter a column that contains a group classification.
In this worksheet, Corrections is the response and contains the observed number of steering corrections for each driver. Experience and Road type are factors 1 and 2 and are the categorical factors that may explain differences in the number of steering corrections.

18 Low Second class
8 High Dirt
10 Low First class

Include interaction term

Select Include interaction term to include the interaction between the two factors in the model.

Usually, you should initially fit the model with the interaction term and determine whether it is significant. If the interaction is insignificant, you can consider removing it from the model. Removing an insignificant interaction term may improve the fit of the model and the precision of the predicted values.
