Create a scatterplot of a single pair of X and Y variables

In the Scatterplot dialog box, complete the following steps to specify the data for your graph. If your data are arranged differently than described below, go to Choose a scatterplot.

  1. In Y variable, enter the numeric column that you want to explain or predict.
  2. In X variable, enter the numeric column that might explain changes in the Y variable.

In the following worksheet, each row contains the weight and height of one student. Weight is the Y variable and Height is the X variable. The graph shows the relationship between the heights and weights.
