Create a bar chart of counts of unique values: simple

Complete the following steps to create a bar chart that displays counts of unique values for one variable. If your data are arranged differently, go to Choose a bar chart.

  1. Open the dialog box.
    • Mac: Choose Graphs > Bar Chart > Counts of unique values in a categorical variable > Simple.
    • PC: Choose GRAPHS > Bar Chart > Counts of Unique Values > Simple.
  2. In Categorical variable, enter the column of categories that you want to graph.

In the following worksheet, Flaws contain the paint flaws found in a sample of painted toys. Each row contains one paint flaw. The graph shows the counts for each type of paint flaw.
