FlexNet error -97-121-0

FlexNet error -97-121-0 is usually caused by problems with the license file. Here are some suggestions for troubleshooting:
  • Has the license expired? The end date for the license period is located on the first line of the INCREMENT section of the minitab.lic file.
  • Is the Minitab client pointing to the correct license manager computer?
  • Is the Minitab License Manager service running on the license manager computer?
  • Have you modified any part of the license file since you received its original contents?
  • Does the MAC address on the first line of the license file match the one from your computer? You cannot edit the MAC address in a license file in order to use it on another computer. Contact Minitab Technical Support for assistance rehosting the license file if the MAC addresses do not match.
  • Does the license file contain the MAC address of a disabled network adapter? Go to the license manager folder, which has a default location of:
    • 64-bit version: C:\Program Files\Minitab\License Manager
    • 32-bit version: C:\Program Files (x86)\Minitab\License Manager

    Open lmtools.exe, click the System Settings tab, and compare the value in the Ethernet Address field to the MAC address specified in the license file.

  • Does the License Manager computer have the correct date?
  • Are multiple license managers running on the same server? If so, there may be a port number conflict.
